Mastering fishing in Heartopia is all about patience and respecting line tension:

1. Cast Your Line: Aim slightly in front of swimming fish shadows. Hold your cast button to gauge distance.
2. Watch the Bite: Wait for the bobber to dip completely with a splash audio cue, then tap to hook.
3. Control Tension:
   • White Ring: Completely safe — hold the reel button to draw the fish closer.
   • Yellow Ring: Tension is rising — be ready to let go.
   • Red Blinking Ring: Dangerous tension — release immediately or your line will snap and the fish will escape.

Weather Multipliers

• Sunny / Clear: Standard spawn table. Best for leveling up your fishing hobby baseline.
• Rainy / Stormy: Spawn rates for Rare & Epic fish double. Several exclusive species (such as the Storm Marlin) will only appear during downpours.
• Rainbow After Rain: High bonus luck for double catches and larger specimen stars.

Pro Tips for Collecting All 90+ Species

1. Check the Collections App: On your in-game phone, open the Collections app to inspect the Fish Observation tab. Uncaught fish display environmental hints.
2. Use Mermaid Fish Attractors: Obtained from weekly codes (HEARTOPIA2026) or event shops. They dramatically slow down line tension spikes, making difficult fish much easier to reel in.
3. Upgrade Your Rod: Higher-grade rods purchased from the workshop increase your sweet spot duration and allow you to reel heavier deep-sea targets.
